Description: An idyllic remote fishing village is invaded by enormous bloodsucking tentacled sea creatures. With islanders turning up decapitated and drained of blood, the inhabitants learn that the creatures are allergic to alcohol. Overrun and under attack, the locals band together at the pub and do their best to survive the night.
Jon Wright’s Irish comedy thriller Grabbers, written by Kevin Lehane and starring Richard Coyle, Ruth Bradley and Russell Tovey, is presented at Encounters by Cross Channel Film Lab. A fine example of visual inventiveness without a massive budget, it screened to great acclaim at Sundance and Edinburgh.
Followed by Q&A with VFX Supervisor Paddy Eason.
The Cross Channel Film Lab is also presenting a talk with Paddy Eason and Producer Tracy Brimm on THE FUTURE OF LOWER COST VFX at the festival. Find out more here.
