A multinational company has been employed by the European Union to take over the governance of Greece . The streets of Athens are filled with signs that say “believe, obey, FIGHT”.  Public buildings have been converted into detention and reform centres.  Areas of the city centre have been separated by the police depending on their economic level.  The company has decided to evacuate the old degraded areas of the centre violently, and the people who live in these areas are resisting police operations.   Following the lives of several citizens of this embattled world as they cross paths, in the tradition of Sin City and Crash, Haunted By City Lights is not a sci-fi film.  It is an extreme version of the present.
